Tim Holm is Our Special Guest at SpokenWord Paris, March 16th! Monday’s Theme: WAR & PEACE

Born in the USA, the bi-lingual poet and long time resident of both England and France, Tim HOLM, “est un voyageur européen de la culture.” Poems from his collection entitled, The Quiet Sun / Le Soleil Calme, translated into French by Claude Held, have been published in Poetry of Europe by Carcanet Press-UK, Anthology UNICEF-Rencontres Européen – Europoésie-France (Joël CONTE TAILLASSO, ed. 2023, and a host of others. Michel DEGUY, when poetry editor of Editions Gallimard, said the poems from The Quiet Sun are “full of life, with both piercing and subtle sequences”. The French poet, Eric SARNER, said recently of The Quiet Sun, “j’aime beaucoup la précision des détails et l’attention aux petites chose : une goutte d’eau, un moucheron, une tulip, une armée de moineaux, etc.”Others of HOLM’s poems have been published in numerous collections including the OPA Yearbook 2025 on JUSTICE, (edited by Nilovso Nill SHOOVRO) and in multiple issues of the prestigious, La Traductiére, most recently in its Anthology 2025, France, (edited by Linda Maria BAROS… HOLM is a recipient of the Antioch International Literary Fellowship for Master’s degree study in London and Oxford, UK, and also studied in Ireland thanks to a WB YEATS Society Scholarship award. His DEA in modern literature (Women Characters in the Verse Plays of WB YEATS) was awarded by La Sorbonne, Paris IV. Tim HOLM was founding Associate Editor (M. LYNCH, ed.) of the Paris/Atlantic International Review of Poetry created in 1982 and published by the American College, now University, in Paris.  He has also served as Representative in France of the IWP (International Writing Program) of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, under the direction of founding co-directors, Paul and Hualing Nieh ENGLE.
